Founder and Executive Director
After spending time as an actress and freelancing as a teaching artist, Ms. Dennett was also volunteering working with people with disabilities of all ages. Upon learning that most of the young people with disabilities she worked with had never done any sort of theater she decided it was time to set up a way that they could do just that in a meaningful way. Ms. Dennett has a B.A. degree from Hunter College, CUNY in theater (performance) and a specialized M.A. degree from New York University, Gallatin School, in drama for people with disabilities. Ms. Dennett is also a certified American Sign Language Interpreter.
Mrs. Farrand has been with I.D.E.A.S. since the beginning and is currently a teacher of American Sign Language at the University of Indiana and was a former professor of theater at Gallaudet University. She is also the founder of Act Out Academics, a small company that uses creative drama techniques to support academic subject learning in classrooms. She is the proud parent of two children.
Dee Dee Horowitz
Mrs. Horowitz joined I.D.E.A.S. in 2014 and brings a variety of experience working in educational settings and the arts. She is the proud parent of two children, one with special needs.
Mr. Dasque currently works at Sirius XM radio in marketing. He is the proud parent of a daughter.
